Verena Wüsthoff studied recorders at the Cologne University of Music and the Bern University of the Arts.
She is primarily dedicated to contemporary music, with a particular interest in chamber music and the development of innovative concert programs that combine music, media and other art forms.
As a soloist and chamber musician, she has been a guest at various festivals and concert series (including Biennale Bern, Colegio Nacional, MX, Hiram Creative Field Studies Ohio, IGNM, Documenta12, Melbourne Fringe, Frauenstimmen Salzburg, Borealis Fest Bergen) and has received several grants and Artists Residencies for her work by the ERTA, ARS, Töpfer-Stifung and others.
The expansion of the chamber music repertoire for her instrument is also an important concern, therefore she works closely with young composers. In this way, new chamber music works are created and are premiered by her Ensemble Windspiel.
For several years she has also been involved in teaching contemporary music and has developed various educational formats for children, teenagers and teachers at schools, music schools and concert halls (Staatstheater Darmstadt, Hindemith School Frankfurt, ERTA, Music School Vienna, Tönstör Bern, etc.).
